Welcome to my story, HIS story … could it be your story?
Come along with me on our journey as we trudge through the rocky roads of God’s ordained events in our lives into the joyful entrance into Christ’s healing. As we come to full faith in trusting God with these circumstances, we can learn most of all that HE is not the enemy, and is someone who is faithful and trustworthy. We can learn that His Word is sufficient for everything that we need (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
As we start this journey, you may feel that you have been let down by our Heavenly Father, and that you are walking alone in a darkness that you can’t shake. Hold tight, dear one. God is there, and has not left you. He has not let you down, and He is, and always will be the Lord of the Outcomes.
Trusting is hard to come by when you have been abused, used or betrayed. When grief has you stuck, it is hard to rise above it. When chronic illness has come to stay, and you don’t remember what it is like to feel well, Christ, by his death, burial and resurrection, has offered a better and perfect way of dealing with our suffering. This better and perfect way is not without work on your part. Living is worth it. God thinks that a godly marriage is worth fighting for. You can eventually rise above the grief. Forgiveness can happen. You can suffer well. Your life has already been fought for, forgiveness is made possible on that old rugged cross for the sinning saint, and for the sinner who believes in Jesus Christ. Christ has offered the best escape plan that you could ever dream of…in every circumstance. I Corinthians 10:13 - “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
Do you want to be healed? This is not just about physical healing, and is a symbol of our spiritual healing as well, just like when Christ asked the paralytic man at the Pool of Bethesda these very simple, yet difficult words in John 5:5,6 - “One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, ‘Do you want to be healed?’” God’s timetable is not usually the same as our timetable. With Him, time is of no essence as He holds the keys to eternal life, forgiveness and complete healing, whether in this life or the next.
I know, oh restless and weary one, that you desire healing in a full way, both physically, spiritually and mentally. Could it be that you have not taken the time to abide in Christ to know that this suffering may be what brings God the most glory? (Don’t shoot the messenger!) Could it be that you have worn yourself out by striving for perfection, and demanding the same of others? Could it be that you are shaking your fist at him, her or HIM?
Christ has a better way. In the book which I am excited to bring to youentitled “he’s not the enemy, she’s not the enemy, and neither is HE,” I seek to comfort with the comfort that has been given to me by my total (albeit flawed) dependence on Christ Jesus through the ravages of life. His Word has become my daily food, my way through the darkness, my joy that comes in the morning. I am here. I am living, and I am filled with gratitude that Jesus Christ would be so patient with me and with you as we move our focus from ourselves and fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith. I pray that you will learn to thank God for the difficulties and tragedies of life, and to bring Him glory as you rise above the darkness, the guilt and the shame which has held you hostage for far too long.

It has been a life dream of mine to publish a book, even thought I did not know that God would take me through so much for this book to be completed. I am thankful, and although I do not wish to endure those tough times I write about again, God is faithful to be there in any and all circumstances to bring me through. I hope that our paths will cross \some day as I seek to give God glory to all who will hear of Him and His wonderful work in my life with the hope that can be yours.
